For the winter, it may be relevant to discuss whether children under the age of 12 should also be vaccinated against coronavirus.
This is what Søren Brostrøm, director of the National Board of Health, says, according to Børsen.
– I have no doubt that we will have the discussion, says Søren Brostrøm to the media.
He says that there is currently research underway on corona vaccines for children. Brostrøm expects reporting from the studies at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.
At that time, there will therefore be an opportunity to discuss the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines, he says.
– Then, of course, the consideration arises as to whether we should expand the target group to less than 12 years. It will depend on documentation, approval, and what the epidemic looks like, says Søren Brostrøm to Børsen.
He says that the infection for winter will especially be found among children under 12 years of age, because these have not been vaccinated.
However, he emphasizes that the children do not get very ill.
In Denmark, they started inviting children between the ages of 12 and 15 to corona vaccination on 14 July.
