The Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland (Avi) has announced that coronavir virus restrictions in the Helsinki metropolitan area will not be tightened, or at least not yet.
Avi said in a statement released Friday morning that it has requested an expert analysis of the development of the coronavirus epidemic in the metropolitan area and that any new measures will take effect when bar and restaurant opening hours and operations begin on Sunday, August 8th.
Therefore, a possible tightening of restrictions will be discussed and decided next week, Avi added.
New restrictions on the Kymenlaakso area
However, there are updated restrictions on the Kymenlaakso area, which began at the outbreak stage – or the most serious stage – on 4 August.
The new measures mainly affect how many people can attend public and private events in the area, and the organizers are responsible for keeping participants two meters apart at all times for both indoor and outdoor events.
The rules will take effect on August 14.
