Member of Parliament for the Finnish Party Mauri Peltokangas has been accused of inciting a group of people, according to a national daily Helsingin sanomat newspaper (link in Finnish).
Vaasa MP Peltokangas told HS that he did not want to comment on the charge in more detail at this stage of the proceedings.
The case is based "a year old Facebook post," Peltokangas said. He denies all charges.
Mauri Peltokangas was elected Member of Parliament in the last parliamentary elections in 2019. He was a front-runner in the Vaasa constituency, receiving more than 13,000 votes.
In this year’s municipal elections, Peltokangas was elected to the Kokkola Municipal Council. He was the biggest voter in the council, as the Finns got four additional seats in the municipality.
Peltokangas caused a stir last year in his Facebook comment, where he stigmatized prime minister ministers Sanna Marin(SDP) government "pathetic asshole".
