TOP ICE CREAM
Bon Bon Ice
Suddenly we were not in Frederiksberg, but the plains of Africa, like earthy, velvety tones, rhythm and bass of course, praised Bon Bon Ice’s epic ‘Black Vanilla’ taste. Colored volcanic dark by the ash of coconuts rich in antioxidants is a treat for all the senses. No wonder Bon Bon Ice has quickly become everyone’s favorite. From palate-cleaning mango sorbet to the beautifully aromatic pistachio served on a cone made a few minutes earlier, every taste of creamy Italian sophistication oozes a testament to the owner’s frequent inspirational trips to Iceland’s homeland. With flavors clearly marked as suitable for vegans, glucose intolerant and those with nut allergies — and updated daily on Instagram — the site puts you at the forefront.

TOP DECLARES
Queen’s Delight
These are the best eclairs you will ever try – better than the French! Made fresh every day early in the morning — passers-by can attest that they never sell second-day eclairs, which is actually their motto. Unlike traditional eclairs, which are usually made with a wetter dough, Queen’s Delight has its own offering of pastry, which is more crispy. Add creative flavors like crispy hazelnuts, salted caramel and tiramisu, and we’re talking eclair perfection!
Grønnegade 37, Cph K; open Wed-Fri 11: 00-18: 00, Sat 12-20: 00, Sun 12: 00-18: 00 or until sold out; @ queensdelight.dk
TOP DONUTS
Deep girls
Dough Girls is run by a family of German-Australians: parents bake donuts, daughters run the shop. Located in Nørreport, just a few steps from the Queen Louise Bridge, they bring donuts to a fancy level with creative ideas such as Lamington Donut, which draws inspiration from a traditional Australian cake, a raspberry Berliner and classic Danish drink. All donuts are baked fresh every day using the highest quality organic ingredients. They are top notch!
Frederiksborggade 50, Cph K; open Tue-Sun 10: 00-17: 00, closed Mon; @doughgirlsdoughnuts
TOP PASTRIES
Hart Bakery
Forget all the baked goods you’ve ever tried, because once you go to Hart, your heart belongs to them forever. Let’s start with their bid for the Danish cinnamon roll. Topped with lemon icing, this roll melts in your mouth with crispy cinnamon caramel – our absolute favorite. Then there is the cardamom bun made with the same dough as their croissant and dipped in browned Danish butter – it is out of this world and you will definitely not share it. Whatever they bring, it’s always a hit; they are constantly reinventing themselves and finding new inspiration. Stop by and enjoy a taste of paradise.
Gammel Kongevej 109, Frederiksberg; open Monday-Sunday 08: 00-17: 00; @hartbageri

TOP CAKES
Paulette Confectionery
The Danes are known for loving cake, but there is a lack of a recently opened decent shops here with the exception of La Glace, where the cows can continue forever on rainy days. The patisserie Paulette, a new patisserie in Kongens Nytorv, which was recently founded by Emil Vang, a former La Glace confectioner, fills the void quite nicely. And the prices are reasonable too.
