Another plane with evacuees from Afghanistan landed shortly before 09.00 on Friday at Copenhagen Airport.
It informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The SAS plane has brought the evacuees from Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, to Dubai and from there on to Copenhagen.
There were 153 people on board the plane, Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod (S) informs on Twitter.
– These include local employees, interpreters and their families, people from the Danish list, NGOs and NATO, he writes.
Defense Minister Trine Bramsen (S) announced on Twitter on Thursday that “320 interpreters and local staff, etc.” had been evacuated from Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul.
Initially, the evacuation will take place by military aircraft from Kabul to neighboring Pakistan.
From here, the evacuees are flown on to Denmark.
On Thursday morning, a plane with 84 evacuees arrived in Denmark. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was primarily locally employed Afghans who worked for the Danish embassy.
They have been accommodated in Center Sandholm in North Zealand, where the Red Cross is ready with psychological assistance and other help.
The Ministry of Immigration and Integration Affairs announced on Thursday that the evacuees must stay in the center for four to five days in corona quarantine.
A political agreement ensures that the evacuated Afghans have legal residence in Denmark for two years.
The first plane with evacuees landed at Copenhagen Airport on Wednesday morning. The passengers spoke 14 Norwegians and a person with legal residence in Denmark.
With the plane on Friday morning, four evacuation planes have so far arrived in Denmark.
Pakistan’s foreign minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, said on Twitter on Monday that Pakistan “facilitates” the evacuation of 431 Afghans who have worked for the Danish government in Afghanistan.
However, this has not been confirmed by the Danish side.
The evacuation operation has been underway over the week after the militant Islamist movement Taliban seized power in Afghanistan on Sunday.
The takeover happened faster than expected.
On Sunday, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced that he had fled the country to avoid bloodshed.
