A 24-year-old motorist was arrested on Saturday by the police on the Køge Bay Motorway after a fifteen-minute car chase in which the police had to pull out a weapon.
This is stated by the Central and West Zealand Police.
Police wanted to stop the motorist as the car owner did not have a driver’s license. However, the motorist chose instead to speed up.
– It may be because this is the third time he has been caught. And then you are in danger of the police taking the vehicle, says René Søe Pedersen, who is on duty at the Central and West Zealand Police.
The 24-year-old motorist was driving at up to 160 kilometers per hour in a zone where 60 kilometers per hour had to be driven, and up to 120 kilometers per hour in a zone where the limit was 50 kilometers per hour.
The police are now looking for witnesses from Greve, Hundige and Ishøj who may have seen something in the case. Among other things, the motorist has been close to hitting a woman and her child on Ishøj Strandvej and a woman in a red car at exit 27 Greve Nord.
The car was a black passenger car of the brand Citroën. It drove along several roads in Greve, Hundige and Ishøj.
The driver is now charged and arrested for insanity driving. The vehicle has also been seized. The motorist must be brought to court on Sunday.
You can contact the police on telephone 114 if you have witnessed the search.
