More than 80 people were evacuated from Kabul on a Danish military plane on Saturday night.
This was stated by Minister of Defense Trine Bramsen (S) on Sunday on Twitter.
– I can confirm that a Danish Hercules plane took off from Kabul last night. This time with over 80 on board. Most from the Danish lists – but we also helped other European countries, says Trine Bramsen in the post from the Ministry of Defense.
At the same time, a SAS plane is on its way to Copenhagen Airport from Dubai on Sunday morning, where it has a stopover after taking off from Islamabad in Pakistan.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier Sunday morning, but how many and who are on board, the ministry can not say.
It is thus also not known whether or how the SAS plane and its passengers are connected to the evacuation from Kabul on Saturday night.
The SAS plane is currently about to land around 12 Danish time at Copenhagen Airport according to the flight monitoring tool FlightRadar24.
On Saturday, Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod (S) said that 450 people had so far been evacuated from Kabul on their way to Denmark.
At the same time, there were between 90 and 100 people on the Danish list in Afghanistan.
The list of Danes is a list that you can sign up for on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website. The list includes Danish citizens or persons legally resident in Denmark.
