Despite the increase, however, the level is significantly lower than in January. The previous peak was January 4, when 964 infected were hospitalized.
Since then, the number of vaccinated has increased significantly, and at present, only people who have not been fully vaccinated are admitted.
– 80 percent of the inpatients have not been fully vaccinated, says Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke (S) on Monday at a press conference.
– We are heading towards an epidemic among the non-vaccinated in Denmark, it sounds.
On Monday morning, 18 infected people were admitted to intensive care units, and 8 of them were on a respirator. On Sunday it was 8 and 20 respectively.
A further 774 people have been confirmed infected with covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
In August, between 720 and almost 1,200 new cases of infection were registered daily. There have been responses to between 49,000 and 80,000 samples a day.
Another infected person has passed away. This means that a total of 2567 infected Danes have died during the epidemic.
The work of vaccinating the Danish population is progressing.
Another 3,050 people have been vaccinated for the first time, while another 16,213 have been vaccinated.
This means that 74.7 percent of the population has received at least one plug. 68.9 percent have been vaccinated.
