The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) warned on Wednesday of heavy rains in southern and western Finland.
Some southern areas may receive up to 50 mm of rain before it is over.
The low-pressure system brings rain and strong winds to Uusimaa, Kanta-Häme, Päijät-Häme and southwestern Finland, FMI said.
According to Yle Meteorologist, heavy rainfall can also cause local flooding Nina Karusto.
The story continues after the weather map
Rainfall is expected to fall east in the afternoon and evening and is projected to continue in the southern, western and eastern regions.
Strong winds are also expected on Wednesday, both at sea and on land. However, wind speeds are unlikely to reach storm levels. On the west side, the wind can rise to 15 meters per second.
Karusto said the scattered showers will continue on Thursday, when it is also expected to warm up a bit.
Due to the high pressure system expected over the weekend, rainy and windy weather is expected to calm down due to warmer temperatures and drier conditions.
