In the Faroe Islands, at the end of the month, tourists who come to the country will no longer be checked. Such a decision was made at yesterday’s meeting of the Faroese Bureau.
Michael Boolsen, chairman of the committee, told Kringvarpið that the Faroese situation regarding COVID-19 infections is good.
“Given the level of infection and the vaccination rate we have now reached, there is every reason to stop screening.” Boolsen said. However, he says, there is still some time to reach herd immunity.
The members of the epidemic committee have submitted new proposals to the government, but the chairman does not see fit to comment on the matter until the government has considered them.
Twelve infections have been diagnosed in the Faroe Islands in the past two weeks.
