Migration crisis: Denmark helps to fence up the Lithuanian border

On the way west
According to Tesfaye, Lithuania claims that many of the migrants do not want to settle in the country, but rather move to the western part of the EU.

It is unknown what effect the fence will have on the case, as Lithuania and Belarus share a border that is 680 km away.

Apart from the fence, Denmark will also send housing containers, immigration experts and sanitary equipment to the border area.

This step comes in the wake of Lithuania’s request from the European Commission, the EU border agency Frontex and other Member States for assistance.
