Prosecutor abandons to appeal case against Kurt Beier Transport

The public prosecutor in Viborg drops to appeal a case against the transport company Kurt Beier Transport A / S.

– There is no reasonable prospect that the high court will arrive at a different result, the Prosecution writes in a press release.

At the Court in Sønderborg, the company and director Karsten Beier were fined for knowledge of an illegal driver camp, but acquitted of exploiting drivers.

The director was fined DKK 25,000 for having knowledge that a camp had been built illegally.

It also cost the company a fine of 100,000 kroner.

The case started when pictures of foreign drivers who lived in containers and trucks in the camp in Padborg went around the country in October 2018.

The images caused a great deal of furore, and the transport company Kurt Beier A / S was initially investigated for possible human trafficking. However, the indictment was downgraded to usury.
