Evacuated to land
In related news, it has emerged that Denmark continues to evacuate Afghanistan – now ashore.
Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod revealed in a Twitter post on September 7th that 20 people on the so-called ‘Danish list’ have so far been helped out of the war-torn country by road.
On 31 August, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 88 people with a Danish connection are still in Afghanistan – of which 47 are on the ‘Danish list’. The last figure has now dropped to 38.
“They are accommodated in a safe area and are transported on to Denmark. The work continues, ”wrote Kofod.
Kofod informed the public that the group of 20 consisted of 11, who were former interpreters and local workers at the Danish embassy and their family members, while the other nine were from the ‘Danish list’.
