A married couple who have been in custody in a terror case from Holbæk since February, have been released on Thursday.
This is stated by the Central and West Zealand Police in a press release.
Five people remain in custody in the case, including the couple’s two sons.
It is thus the mother of 61 years and the father of 76 years who have now been released after six months in prison, confirms the lawyer for the 76-year-old, Thomas Brædder.
Police have assessed that the basis for the imprisonment of the parents is no longer present, it reads.
However, the parents are still charged in the case, which has been investigated since February this year.
– The Central and West Zealand Police can not comment on the detailed basis for the release of the two people, because they are still charged in the case, and because there are still other remand prisoners in the case, it says in the announcement.
The group of a total of seven people was arrested in February after searches at, among other places, two addresses in Holbæk.
There are two brothers, their parents as well as one brother’s wife, her sister and the sister’s husband. But the parents have now been released.
The brothers are accused of making plans to detonate a bomb, while the others are accused of having participated in the plans.
According to the indictment, the brothers must have ordered a number of chemicals for delivery at one brother’s address in Dessau, Germany.
In addition, police believe detonators were made to be used to detonate the bomb. It has previously been revealed that the police have seized a mobile phone which had been rebuilt so that it could act as a detonator.
At one of the addresses in Holbæk, officers found a rifle with a binocular sight and 66 associated sharp cartridges, a pumpgun with ammunition as well as a set of walkie-talkies and an Islamic State flag.
Since the arrest, a number of court hearings on custody have been held behind closed doors at the Court in Holbæk.
The most recent was held on August 26, when the imprisonment of the seven was extended by four weeks, but now two have been released.
In addition to the seven, six other people were arrested in February. They were released again in April, but are also still charged in the case.
