Two men convicted of beating 49-year-old to death in Salten

On 14 June last year, a 49-year-old man was approached and brutally assaulted by two men in his home in Salten south of Silkeborg.

Jesper Paludan Lindgaard was so badly injured in the attack that he was found dead at his residence the next morning.

On Thursday, two men at the Court in Viborg were sentenced every six years to prison for violence resulting in death, writes Midtjyllands Avis.

According to the indictment, the two men hit their victim in both the head and on the body with fists and a board. In addition, he was kicked with, among other things, safety shoes, just as they strangled him.

At one point during the violent assault, the 49-year-old was thrown up on a table so he fell into a toolbox, the indictment read.

The extensive violence caused the victim several injuries to the brain, broken ribs and punctate bleeding in the eye.

The 49-year-old Svend Erik Suaning Jørgensen appealed the verdict to the Western High Court on the spot, while the 51-year-old René Godskesen took time to think, writes Midtjyllands Avis.
