Lise Bech, who turns 60 on Thursday 16 September, became interested in politics after discussing it with her parents.
When the Danish People’s Party was formed in 1995 by, among others, Pia Kjærsgaard and Kristian Thulesen Dahl after the break-up with the Progress Party, Lise Bech helped to collect signatures so that the new party could be nominated to the Folketing.
At the same time, she co-founded the party’s local association in Støvring Municipality.
From 1999 to 2006, Lise Bech, who has a master’s degree in management and collaboration at Aalborg Business School and an office assistant from the Aars Business School, was a member of the City Council of Støvring Municipality.
She had her second city council term from 2014 to 2015 in Rebild Municipality. Here she replaced her party colleague Rikke Karlsson, who had been elected to the European Parliament.
In 2015, however, the trip went to Christiansborg, when Lise Bech ran for parliament in one of DF & apos;’s four seats in North Jutland’s Storkreds.
Four years later, Lise Bech had to note a large decrease in personal votes in the general election – from 4181 in 2015 to 2306 in 2019 – when the Danish People’s Party got a voter turnout and went from 37 to 16 seats.
However, she just managed to stick to her mandate.
During her time in the Folketing, Lise Bech has, among other things, had rapporteurships within food and agriculture.
In June 2019, she told Nordjyske about her plans for the next four years as a Member of Parliament:
– They must be used to take care of Danish agriculture and Danish food production, and I think it will be difficult with the red majority we have now. But we have to see, it will probably work.
Lise Bech, who is married and lives in Støvring, has previously been a judge at the Court in Aalborg. She has been a member of Sørup Parish Council since 2017.
