– That is why we are now expanding the festival to a large number of municipalities in the country that are hungry to show the very best Danish and international documentaries, says Niklas Engstrøm, creative director of CPH Dox.
Nine municipalities across the country have entered into a collaboration with CPH Dox to create mini-festivals around the country from 9 to 17 October.
These are Randers, Aalborg, Holstebro, Ringkøbing-Skjern, Ærø, Lolland, Faaborg-Midtfyn, Kolding and Køge Municipality.
– Each municipality, island and city that is part of the collaboration, has each been given great freedom to make the program with us. This is one thing we would like to continue exploring for years to come.
– We have been able to see that there has been a huge interest. Not just from those who are usually at the festival in Copenhagen, but from people all over the country, says Niklas Engstrøm.
He points out that in the future one can well expect that CPH Dox is more than just a “Copenhagen film festival” and hopes that the festival can be extended to even more municipalities in the future.
– We see a great value in being nationwide, so we can share the great film experiences with audiences around the country, says the creative director.
According to Niklas Engstrøm, as a cinema guest you can expect a towering level when it comes to cinematic quality.
– We show films that speak to the heart and at the same time can make us wiser about the society we live in, he says.
The municipalities’ individual film programs can be found on CPH Dox’s website.
