At this weekend’s national meeting of the Danish People’s Party, Pia Kjærsgaard should take over the chairmanship from Kristian Thulesen Dahl, according to the chairman of the party’s local association in Gentofte, Rita Rahbek.
She says this on Thursday to both Ekstra Bladet and Berlingske.
Pia Kjærgaards helped found the party. She is also the only one who has been chairman of the party apart from Kristian Thulesen Dahl.
Rita Rahbek has been asked by Ekstra Bladet whether her words are “a direct call for her (Pia Kjærsgaard, ed.) To take over as chairman up to the annual meeting”.
Rita Rahbek responds very briefly to this:
– Yes.
Berlingske asks her if she is tired of Kristian Thulesen Dahl as chairman.
– I will not say that to you, because I am the type who is loyal to the sitting chairman at all times. I always will be, and Kristian is an amazing person. I like Kristian a lot, Rita Rahbek answers to Berlingske.
– But as chairman – that is probably not his strength, one must say. I do not want to say anything negative about Kristian at all, because I really like him, but I think the best thing for DF must be Pia.
The Danish People’s Party will hold its annual meeting this weekend. During the run-up to the annual meeting, there has also been a focus on internal disagreements between several members of the main board.
Three members of the main board are up for election. All three current holders of the seats line up. But in advance, several candidates have signed up. A contest election for the seats on the main board is therefore inevitable.
