Individuals with a Finnish personal identity number and identification tools, such as Finnish online banking codes, can obtain an EU digital COVID certificate directly from My Kanta Pages. You do not have to be a Finnish citizen to use my Kanta pages.
The healthcare service can print a COVID certificate
The EU digital COVID certificate can now be printed at a healthcare service for people who do not have a Finnish personal identity number, but who have received the COVID-19 vaccine or who have taken the COVID-19 test in Finland. The certificate printed by the healthcare service is the same as the EU digital COVID certificate, which can be printed from My Kanta Pages.
Foreigners who, for example, work in a company located abroad in Finland or study in Finland may not have a Finnish personal identity number.
Persons who do not have a Finnish personal identity number are given a temporary identification code in the patient information system. The data stored in the temporary identification code is also entered into the Base. Only the healthcare unit that stored the data can print the EU digital COVID certificate to the person with the temporary identification code.
Contact your local health organizations for more information
Some healthcare organizations are not yet able to print the EU Digital COVID. For this reason, healthcare organizations provide more local guidance on how people who do not have a Finnish personal identity number can obtain a printed EU digital COVID certificate. The person should contact the healthcare organization that provided the vaccine or the COVID-19 test for further instructions.
