The verdict was handed down on Tuesday by the Western High Court. Here, Yahya Karim Murad reduced his sentence from two years and nine months in prison to one year and nine months.
Brothers Ahmed Bilal Mirza and Yassin Bilal Mirza were also sentenced to one year in prison and sentenced to 18 months and 15 months in prison, respectively.
A fourth man was sentenced in the city court to one and a half years in prison. That sentence was reduced to one year in prison, of which nine of the months were made conditional.
The men have been found guilty of a large number of thefts, which were committed by several people in association in a strip of Jutland cities. However, the four men have been convicted of a different number of thefts and attempted thefts.
The High Court has assessed that the procedure has been the same. One of the convicts has diverted an employee’s attention, while the others emptied the store of easily negotiable goods – ie things that are easy to get rid of – such as cigarettes, coffee and spirits.
The thefts took place mainly in the eastern part of Jutland, and according to the high court, the robbery had a systematic and organized nature. Shops in and around Aarhus in particular were visited by the thieves’ chess.
However, the convicted men, who are all from Aarhus, also reached both south and west of the city.
In total, large sums were stolen, which the convicts to a greater or lesser extent have to pay back in the form of compensation.
The special unit Special Investigation West (SEV) has worked on the case by, among other things, collecting and reviewing video material from the thefts.
