The National Coalition and the Social Democrats were the only parties to record significant changes in their approval ratings, with the former scoring one point and the other losing 0.8 points.
Basic Finns and the Swedish People’s Party rose 0.2 and 0.1 points to 17.4 and 4.5 per cent, respectively. Although the Green League (10.5%), Left Alliance (7.8%) and Movement Now (2.2%) won in the range of 0.1-0.3 points, there was no change in the center (12.9%). and Christian in the approval ratings Democrats (3.6%).
Sakari Nurmela, Kantar TNS ‘s director of research, said the national coalition would vote well because it absolutely won the municipal elections and was visible in the somewhat controversial budget talks between the five ruling parties.
– They got a little boost from victory. The national coalition has also received a lot of publicity recently, โhe said.
Although the Social Democratic Party’s popularity declined, it will continue to vote at a higher level than the turnout in municipal elections, Nurmela stressed. It may be an indication that voters who chose not to exercise their right to vote in municipal elections but reaffirmed their support for the party afterwards are reconsidering their political allegiance.
โIt may be that some of the Social Democrats who voted in the municipal elections do not want to express their support for the party at the moment. It can be a normal variation. Of course, it can also be related to the debate on the budget, โhe commented.
The Finnish parties and the Greens do not seem to be dramatically affected by their recent party meetings.
Kantar TNS interviewed 2,384 people in a survey from August 23 to September 17.
