Minister for Children and Education Pernille Rosenkrantz-Theil (S) asks Aarhus Municipality for a statement from Søndervangskolen, which is accused of cheating with final exams.
It writes Politiken.
– The ministry is already contacting Aarhus Municipality today to get a statement.
– It is fortunately very rare that such cases arise in the Danish school system. I actually do not think I have heard of anything similar, it reads in a written comment to the newspaper.
Søndervangskolen in Aarhus, which has many bilingual students, is accused of giving students extra time for the final exam in Danish, even though the students were not entitled to it.
In addition, the management must have told the teachers what the students were up to at the final exams ahead of time.
It is past and present teachers and former students who accuse the school of cheating.
Lisbeth Schmidt, who is Head of Children and Young People in Aarhus Municipality, is familiar with parts of the case and has placed the school under special supervision.
The school has previously been highlighted by, among others, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, because it had raised the grade point average.
Both local politicians and members of the Folketing tell Politiken that a statement must be made of the case.
Mai Mercado, who is the education spokesperson for the Conservatives, tells the newspaper that the case is completely grotesque and that she does not have much faith that Aarhus Municipality is able to investigate itself in this case.
Jens Henrik Thulesen Dahl (DF) and Ellen Thrane Nørby (V), who are the education spokesperson and education spokesperson, respectively, both say that they expect the minister to initiate an account of the process at Søndervangskolen.
