– Now it will be a long way to an instruction, and I have wondered a lot because it is a press release, says Mia Tang.
The press release is central in the Supreme Court case against Støjberg, because according to the prosecutors in the case, it became an illegal instruction. And Støjberg is accused of having initiated the illegal instruction and maintained it.
In the press release from the Ministry of Immigration and Integration Affairs, Støjberg announced that she put an end to minors being able to live with a spouse or cohabitant in Danish asylum centers.
It was not mentioned that there could be exceptions, although the couples are entitled to an individual assessment.
Prosecutor Anne Birgitte Gammeljord asks Mia Tang in the Supreme Court whether the press release should be true.
– Of course it must be true, but in my view it does not have to be exhaustive, she says.
Støjberg came up with the same interpretation of the press release when she was questioned earlier in the Supreme Court case.
The day before the press release, Støjberg approved a memo stating that there were exceptions. Mia Tang does not remember hearing about the note at meetings, and she does not remember receiving it.
– I can not rule out having seen it, but I do not remember having got it, she says.
The press officer is also asked for more emails from the course in January and February 2016, but she can not remember them. And she also has a hard time remembering details about the course of the press release.
At one point in the process, there were two versions of the press release. But Mia Tang refuses to have a memory of it.
– No I have not. I can easily remember the press release going around the system, but I can not remember who said what, when, she says.
She regrets several times that she can not remember anymore.
– In the light of hindsight, I wish I had taken notes, says Mia Tang.
