“Kastanjemanden”, which can be seen from Wednesday on the streaming service Netflix, is based on Søren Sveistrup’s debut novel of the same name.
At Politiken, reviewer Nanna Frank Rasmussen calls the series one of the best on TV since the DR series “The Crime”. That series, the author of the book has been the screenwriter on.
– Søren Sveistrup puts Denmark on the giant streaming world map with eminently played series about solving a string of bestial murders of women, she writes in her review of the series.
The book is about the young investigator Naia Thulin. Together with her partner – the burnt out Mark Hess – she must solve the murder of a young woman.
The two are played by Danica Curcic and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard.
The woman has been found left behind on a playground – without her hand. And above her hangs a little chestnut man.
