There have been daily answers to between approximately 26,300 and almost 52,000 tests.
Wednesday’s infection figures have been found in about 40,000 samples. This equates to 1.35 percent of the samples being positive for covid-19.
The figure, also known as the positive percentage, is the highest in the period.
– It looks fundamentally stable, even though it has been slightly upwards over the past few days, says Henrik Nielsen, professor and chief physician at the Department of Infectious Diseases at Aalborg University Hospital.
He says that it may very well be a seasonal effect, now that it has become autumn, which means that the daily infection rate has increased over the past few days.
Another 11 people have been admitted with covid-19 to the country’s hospitals. However, the total number with the disease has decreased.
On Wednesday morning, 89 infected people were hospitalized, which is 4 fewer than a day earlier. This may be because there have also been discharges of infected people.
Although the number of infections is rising, Henrik Nielsen does not believe that the number of inpatients will increase much.
– It is a milder course in children and young people and in the vaccinated who become infected.
– I do not think that the hospital system will be heavily burdened. So the two curves may well differ a little, he says.
Of those admitted, 16 are admitted to the country’s intensive care units, and 9 of them are connected to a respirator. On Tuesday, it was for 15 and 9 infected, respectively.
Two more infected have passed away. It is not known whether they were hospitalized and whether it has affected the number of hospitalizations.
A total of 2654 Danes died with covid-19 during the epidemic.
