The prosecutor has dropped the charge against the former director general of the Western Finland branch of the Left Alliance for ethnic unrest.
Former party official, Misha Dellinger, was suspected of the charge because Tweets were published in 2016 on the microblogging site Twitter.
The Tweets called for acts of violence against, among others, “fascists” and “deniers of climate change.”
Police in southwestern Finland began a preliminary investigation into the case last year, and Dellinger denied sending Tweets during the preliminary investigation.
However, the Finnish prosecutor decided that no crime had taken place because the People Groups โ climate change deniers, fascists, Nazis โ described in the tweets were not fixed or well-defined enough to form a group of people as defined and protected by the Finnish Ethnic Agitation Act.
