APN Podcast: Who’s Spying on Finland?

APN Podcast: Who's Spying on Finland?

The Security and Intelligence Service (Supo) recently announced that Finland is a constant target of state-sponsored cyber espionage.

"We see that Russia and China are the most active players in this region," Veli-Pekka Kivimäki, A Supo intelligence researcher told APN, adding that ransomware attacks are a growing concern for national security.

The article continues after the sound.

The APN is also looking at controversial facial recognition software called Clearview AI, which has been in the news again after the Data Protection Commissioner raped a police board for inappropriate use by law enforcement officials. APN speaks with the Finnish Data Protection Commissioner, Jari Råman, to find out what the police did wrong.

A new annoying Finnish study has found that about 40 percent of people who search for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) online have sought direct contact with children after viewing illegal images.

"Indeed, we see this causal link between looking at the material and the actual going and exploitation and exploitation of children," Tegan Insoll of NGOs, Protect Children explained the organization’s survey of CSAM users on the dark network.

APN also examines listeners’ comments and suggestions, including banking tests and difficulties as a foreigner, tips for learning Finnish and the use of children’s smartphones in Finland compared to other countries.
