His career started in the 1950s with minor roles in western films.
In the decade that followed, she began to get lead roles. She starred in the movie “Ocean & Apos; s 11” in 1960, where she starred with Frank Sinatra.
The two were lovers for four years, but when marriage came up in 1964, they had to go their separate ways. Frank Sinatra did not want to marry an actor, she told in an interview with the American television program “CBS News” in 2019.

But it was in the 1970s that she really became a famous face when she starred in the TV series “Police Woman”.
The role of Officer Pepper Anderson led to an increase in the number of American women who applied to the police academy, the actor himself has told in several interviews.
She also received letters from female fans who wrote that they had become police officers because of her.
Throughout Dickinson’s career, she has gained status as a sex symbol. It came, among other things, through the role of a teacher seducing a student in “Pretty Maids All In a Row” from 1971, and scenes in “Police Woman” where she takes the phone in the bath.
