The District Court of Southwest Finland has sentenced a son of a basic Finnish politician to four years’ imprisonment for importing and selling drugs.
The 27-year-old man is due to serve his sentence in Turku Prison. He must also pay the state the financial benefits he received from his crimes.
He had imported more than a kilogram of amphetamine and smaller quantities of other drugs from the Netherlands using contacts made on the dark net.
He had kept some of the drugs for his own use and sold some to others. The man admitted during the trial the importation and resale of the drug.
Prosecutors had demanded six years in prison for numerous drug offenses and gun crimes with respect to the air gun found during the investigation.
Member of Parliament for the Finnish Party Riikka Slunga-Poutsalo is the man ‘s mother and commented on the incident last week on Twitter.
Slunga-Poutsalo served as the secretary of Perussuomalainen in 2013-2019 when she came to parliament. There he is the Vice-Chairman of the Intelligence Supervisory Committee and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Trustees of the Finnish Social Insurance Institution (Kela) and also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Lohja City Council.
