– It provides security when farmers and companies have to make investments that extend many years into the future. It is also positive that the government has stuck to the goal of an agreement across the middle in Danish politics, says Søren Søndergaard.
All parties except the Alternative are part of the agreement presented Monday night. Among other things, a binding reduction target of between 55 and 65 percent will be set here in 2030.
Søren Søndergaard calls the future of agriculture a “big and difficult change”.
– I do not want to convince our members that everything is fine – or for that matter will be easy, but I have followed the negotiations closely, and there have been far worse scenarios along the way, he says.
Here, the chairman refers to the state funding of the green transition to the farmers, which there have been fights along the way.
The agreement provides DKK 3.8 billion in state funds for the agricultural sector.
