The Swedish man, who has run a business in Frederikshavn since 2012, was found guilty of murder by the jury on Monday.
The victim was first shot with a revolver and then burned at a campfire at the 53-year-old’s country estate in Frederikshavn.
It has not been possible to determine whether Eddie Christensen was dead when he was placed on the fire.
The prosecutor sees only aggravating circumstances in the murder, which he calls “particularly ruthless and cynical”.
– The killing had the character of a liquidation. The accused was extremely purposeful, ruthless and cynical in his efforts to kill Eddie, says Kim Kristensen in court.
The starting point is 12 years for manslaughter, but in the prosecutor’s opinion it should be deviated from in an upward direction due to the brutal nature of the case.
A 46-year-old Swedish man, who is also charged in the case, was acquitted on Monday of murder.
But the Swedish man was found guilty of indecent treatment of corpses.
He himself had admitted that part of the charge and explained that he felt threatened by the 53-year-old to help get the body out of the way.
It must cost at least a year in prison, according to the prosecutor.
He also demands the two Swedish men expelled from Denmark.
The burnt body parts were found in two oil barrels at a warehouse in Frederikshavn belonging to the 53-year-old.
The court has assumed that there was an argument between the 53-year-old and Eddie Karl-Johan Christensen on 9 May 2020 prior to the murder.
The 53-year-old also killed the victim’s dog, Rocco, with his revolver, according to the court.
The Swedish man, who is found guilty of murder, is not present at the sentencing on Tuesday.
According to several media outlets, he already announced during the guilty verdict on Monday that he wants the verdict appealed.
A verdict in the case is finally expected later Tuesday.
