This is stated by Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) in her opening speech in the Folketing.
– The government will present a bill for the new parliamentary year, which is less comprehensive than usual. Less hasty legislation. Better fewer and in return better elaborated proposals.
– And not least more time so that all of you who are to make the bills work for the citizens and companies are not overturned by the law mill, says Mette Frederiksen.
In doing so, she is once again embarking on a debate that has gained a foothold in Christiansborg after a tumultuous corona year, in which politicians hastily made far-reaching decisions to keep the corona epidemic under control.
Now the focus must be on smaller legislation, which in turn will be implemented in a good way that ensures a real solution to society’s problems.
– We will prioritize the implementation of the legislation in a much more visible way.
– A good agreement text today contains sections on the legislative process, on finance. There should also be a section on how the agreement is implemented. Implemented. Will work for citizens and companies, says Mette Frederiksen.
At the same time, she wants to give “the democratic conversation” new vitamins. According to Mette Frederiksen, the debate has become too “fragmented” and “superficial”.
– And probably too hard. We all know the feeling. Especially on social media. We must create space for reflection and reflection. And therefore also an increased awareness of the parts of society that carry that contemplation.
– Which gives us the opportunity to live our lives in other people’s lives. And thus the nerve in understanding ourselves and our world is better, says Mette Frederiksen.
