This is the ID you need to, among other things, log on to online banking, check the annual statement or sign something digital.
MitID is first and foremost an app for smartphone or tablet. But there are alternatives for those who do not have the opportunity or desire to use the phone.
You can get a code viewer, which is a small electronic device that shows a one-time code that you enter when using MitID.
Also, a code reader can serve as an alternative for people with poor eyesight. The code reader has a large screen where the code is displayed – or it can read the code aloud. Headphones can be connected so no one else can listen.
MitID will not be fully phased in until 2022. You will be notified by your bank when it is your turn to change.
