The woman did not want to speak during the court hearing and has not wanted to say anything until now, prosecutor Søren Harbo said at the beginning of the court hearing.
The woman’s defense attorney, Amalie Starch, announced that the woman pleads not guilty to the charges.
The 32-year-old woman is charged with having joined Islamic State (IS) from August 2014 onwards. Her children have also been brought to Denmark.
The woman is also accused of having traveled into the areas of Raqqa and Al Bukamal, where Denmark has introduced a ban on staying. It happened according to the prosecution from September 2016 onwards.
She was led into courtroom 103 by two officers on Thursday. She wore a green hijab, sneakers and blue plastic gloves. She covered her mouth with a mask for covid-19 reasons, it was explained.
The prosecution asked for closed doors for the constitutional hearing, and it chose the court to comply. Thus, only the charge is known to the public. A name ban has also been imposed in the case.
It is thus not yet known what evidence the prosecution has gathered from evidence.
Prosecutor Søren Harbo, however, was able to inform the judge that they had a number of documents ready.
– These are very, very serious charges. There is some evidence lying here that needs to come forward and a number of witnesses who have testified.
– The witnesses should not be told anything of what comes out here. For that reason, and that she has not spoken, and given the early stage, there is reason for there to be door closing, he argued.
The woman replied when asked when she was arrested. She was a little over at 03.00 on Thursday night, when the plane landed in Denmark.
The woman was already imprisoned in absentia – that is, without being present – on July 7 this year.
While the woman was sitting in front of a judge in Frederiksberg, the two other women who were brought home to Denmark on Wednesday night with their children were also produced.
One, a 34-year-old woman, was remanded in custody for four weeks at the Court in Esbjerg. The other was remanded in custody at the Court in Kolding for almost four weeks.
In total, the women brought 14 children to Denmark.
Attorney Knud Foldschack, who is a party representative for two of the women, is also present in Frederiksberg. However, he did not want to comment.
