The action card contains what the police have been told to tell mink breeders in relation to the killing of their animals.
Read the verbatim content of actioncard NO. 1 in relation to the conversation with owners of healthy mink farms (covid-19), here:
* Try to keep the conversation short and focus on getting an agreement on 1) counting 2) start for emptying the farm 3) end dates for emptying the farm.
* You must talk to the owner of the mink farm in question. Show understanding of the difficult situation that breeders are in with emptying their farm for mink and sea during the conversation also in mind, whether the owner in question may exhibit a behavior that makes there may be a need for further psychological assistance.
* Guide if it is deemed necessary that the municipal psychosocial efforts can be contacted in connection with covid-19.
* Presentation:
– Hi, you’re talking to [TITEL] [NAVN]. I am calling from the National Police on behalf of the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, as the government has decided for the sake of public health that all mink in Denmark must be killed. I therefore call regarding the counting of mink in healthy herds.
* There will be an opportunity to obtain a bonus for quick emptying of the crew.
* There is DKK 20 per. mink in a so-called “tempo bonus”, if the minks in a farm of 7,500 animals or more have been killed no later than after 10 days from 6 November 2020 – that is, no later than 16 November 2020 at 23.59.
* For farms with less than 7,500 animals, the deadline is no later than 5 days from 6 November 2020 – ie no later than the end of 11 November 2020 at 23.59.
* Reimbursement in addition to the mentioned bonus is currently by being clarified.
* Unfortunately, I do not have the opportunity to answer questions in more detail, but I can guide you that you can contact the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration’s hotline on telephone number 72276900, just as you can stay updated on:
https://www.foedevarestyrelsen.dk/Dyr/Dyr-og-Covid-19/Mink-og-COVID-19/Sider/default.aspx
* As a healthy herd you can start furs your mink (maybe you have already started).
* But it is necessary to have your crew counted in order to have a basis for the payment of bonus and subsequent reimbursement. Breeding animals, other mink, dead mink and the mink that have been sent for fur (for example via delivery note) will be counted.
* It is of course voluntary if you want to let an official come into your crew and do the counting, and I must therefore hear if you want to participate?
* By “YES” from owner: Thank you. In this connection, I need the following information from you:
* Confirm full name
* Confirm CHR number and possibly subnumber
* Date when counting can take place
* Expected start date for crew emptying
* Expected end date for crew emptying
* Possibly. other telephone number for contact about the practicalities of the count
By “NO” from owner:
I’m sorry to hear that, but the decision has been made. Failure to participate will therefore mean that you will not be able to obtain the bonus, and you can expect the authorities to come and empty the crew anyway. I therefore want to hear if this makes you change the decision?
