– The government will investigate whether new public housing can be established in a large number of specific places in Copenhagen, such as Skjolds Plads in Nørrebro, Bispebjerg, Christiania and so on, the proposal states.
It bears the name “Closer to II – Cities with space for everyone”.
However, it is not clear whether it is possible to build homes in the free city.
The proposal states that the government will “investigate” and “work purposefully” to build public housing in Christiania.
It is also not clear how many public housing units will be located on Christiania, if any.
The government proposes to spend DKK 10 billion from the New Construction Fund in the period up to 2035 on creating 22,000 new public housing.
