The politicians, together with the government’s other support parties – the Unity List and the Radicals – are dissatisfied with the government’s hesitation in the matter.
The government came up with a proposal more than a year ago, which was that children should be allowed to change gender in the CPR register from boy to girl or vice versa. Regardless of age, where today one must be 18.
But since then, the government has waited to present a bill, after the Council of Ethics in March came with its assessment of the case.
A majority of the members will have an age limit for legal gender reassignment of 10-12 years.
