Denmark donates 250,000 doses of corona vaccines from Johnson & Johnson to Rwanda, while 200,400 vaccine doses from Moderna are sold to Australia.
This is stated by Minister for Development Aid Flemming Møller Mortensen (S) on Thursday in a press release.
– The pandemic has major developmental consequences for the African continent.
– That is why I am also glad that we have on several occasions been able to send Danish covid-19 vaccines to a number of countries in Africa, he says.
The vaccine doses, which are going to the African country, are currently in stock at the Statens Serum Institut.
Denmark has previously donated 358,700 vaccine doses to Kenya from Danish stocks.
In addition, Denmark has donated one million doses through the international vaccine collaboration (Covax).
In addition, the Danish government will earmark an additional two million vaccine doses, which will be sent to a total of 12 countries in Africa, including South Africa, Mali and Uganda.
Denmark has also sold over 200,000 vaccine doses from Moderna to Australia, which has requested to buy excess vaccine doses.
