A Finnish research institute is developing a method for manufacturing low-emission cement
The Finnish Technical Research Center (VTT) has announced that it has developed a new method for producing cement and quicklime, which reduces the amount of carbon dioxide generated during the process to almost zero.
The method involves the use of a 12-meter gas-tight, electrically heated furnace instead of conventional incineration. The kiln captures the carbon dioxide released during the cement manufacturing process.
