A number of people with close ties to the inner circle in Tvind appear in the large tax leak Pandora Papers. It writes Politiken.
Pandora Papers consists of millions of internal documents from companies that help customers set up companies in tax havens.
The leak shows that people with connections to Tvind sit on the boards of companies that are located in tax havens like Belize.
One of them is Lynn Salisbury, writes Politiken. Her previous name was Lene Sørensen. The newspaper has not been able to contact her.
According to Politiken, Tvind has previously used companies in tax havens. However, those now being revealed were not part of the 2006 trial.
Here, five leaders of Tvind, including Mogens Amdi Petersen, were acquitted in the city court for tax evasion and embezzlement for millions.
However, the prosecution appealed the case, but in the meantime they had left the country. They have been wanted through Interpol since 2013.
The Tvind group has a large course and residence in Mexico, and Denmark has previously negotiated with Mexico to have Amdi Petersen extradited. However, this has not been possible.
This is because Mexico cannot extradite a person to another country if the person has been acquitted by the first court of that country – in this case by a district court in Denmark.
Only one former Tvind leader, Poul Jørgensen, appeared for the appeal. Here he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
Tvind was founded in 1970 as a banner bearer for a number of schools that were an alternative to the existing teaching.
Since then, however, more and more stories emerged about the organization. Among other things about the financial exploitation of the members.
In 1979, founder Mogens Amdi Petersen went underground. Just over 20 years later, he showed up in an apartment for 50 million kroner in Miami.
