Minister of Social Affairs and the Elderly Astrid Krag (SocDem) does not intervene when she has to explain why it is so important for her and the rest of the government that the welfare law that is currently being consulted is passed and why it irritates the minister , that the Liberal Party will not join. The point of the Welfare Act is that the costs for children and the elderly must increase as, for example, in 2030 there will be 59 per cent more citizens over the age of 80 in Denmark. The development in relation to the elderly is particularly strong in rural areas.
