Iceland is included for the first time in this comparison of pension systems in a total of 43 countries. The next places below are the Netherlands and Denmark, according to the website of the National Association of Pension Funds (Landssamtรถk lรญferassjรณรฐa).

These three countries are the only ones at the top of the index, where points are added for each individual component of the pension system.

โ€œIceland performs well in many respects, but also good in other categories. This is a good overall result of the Icelandic pension system “ – we read on the website.

The comparison of pension systems is based on the one hand on the statistics of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development – OECD and other international organizations and databases, and on the other hand on information obtained by experts from Mercer and other countries surveyed.
