Volodymyr Voznichak, 33, from Ukraine, was also fined. It amounts to 71 million kroner, it is stated in court.
The case is unusual. For several months before the action in the spring, police officers from the Netherlands, Poland and Denmark worked together on the international affair.
The investigation revealed that the cigarettes produced near Vamdrup were driven on trucks to Holland.
Here they were filled in containers, which were then sailed to Britain to eventually end up in the illegal market, the European police cooperation Europol has previously stated.
The investigation was supported by analysts at Europol, where the work took place under the name “Smoke”.
The effort has, among other things, been to clarify possible connections to other countries, Europol has said.
In Denmark, the police special group Special Investigation West has been responsible for the investigation.
Among other things, officers set up video cameras to be able to monitor traffic to and from the country estate near Vamdrup.
However, the intervention with the automatically operating cameras lasted for a few weeks without the necessary court order, a report to the Ministry of Justice has shown.
The Ukrainian man who was convicted on Thursday has confessed to taking part in the production of 41 million cigarettes. His role, however, was limited.
The sentence of four years’ imprisonment is a confirmation of the verdict handed down by the Court in Kolding in June. In that regard, prosecutor Jacob Gents stated that he had no knowledge of similar cases.
– It is a very significant amount of tax that the Danish state has missed, he said.
13 other people are still in custody. They are waiting to appear in court.
