According to the think tank Arbejderbevægelsens Erhvervsråd (AE-rådet), students in master’s programs must not have SU in the same way as today.
It writes Børsen.
– What we are proposing is that the SU be converted to master’s programs for loans.
– It can be an interest-free loan, and then you can use the money you save on paying SU to raise the quality of education elsewhere in education systems, including in relation to educating more professionals, says Lars Andersen, director of AE- advice to the newspaper.
In a reply to Børsen, the Ministry of Finance states that a conversion of SU to loans for the master’s programs will provide a total revenue of DKK 2.3 billion.
At the same time, it will increase the labor supply by 2700 people.
The unions FOA, 3F and Dansk Metal are not opposed to discussing the proposal.
However, Djøf Studerende does not think it is a good idea, because according to them it will make fewer people choose to complete a master’s degree.
– Just as we experience that there is a shortage of manpower in the form of skilled workers, so there is also a lack of highly specialized employees, including among the social sciences academics, says Rasmus Pilegaard, chairman of Djøf Studerende, to Ritzau.
