Four COVID-19 infections have been diagnosed in the Landspítali heart, lung and ophthalmology department. A Landspítali spokesman says tracing the path of infection continues among patients, relatives and staff. It is not known how the infection got to the ward that was closed for admissions and visits.
An announcement from the hospital stated that an additional 21 infections were reported this weekend in people with links to the hospital. It was emphasized that strict sanitary regime rules still apply in the Landspítali, such as the obligation to wear a mask, social distancing and individual precautionary measures.
Relatives who visit other wards are asked to wear masks in the hospital and not enter the hospital if they show symptoms of COVID-19.
