"This person has received incorrect information. I’m sorry for him. He has not received the correct information. PEP (post-exposure prevention) is a very effective way to prevent HIV when done correctly," Jussi Sutinen, An infectious disease expert at Helsinki University Hospital said.
However, PEP must be taken within 72 hours of possible exposure to the virus.
"I believe that you can work in Finland as a nurse for years without hearing about PEP or you do not hear about HIV," said Jenny Tigerstedt, who works on HIV prevention at HIV Point.
However, she pointed out that Haartman’s nurses should have consulted a doctor before telling the man that the emergency room did not include PEP.
Women help women
The APN also caught on Caroline Bondier Finnish International Working Women of Finland (IWWOF). Finnish Refugee Council recently recognized a group of volunteers for their work in promoting the inclusion of foreign women in Finland.
He said that Finnish companies pay a lot of attention to how applicants present their skills compared to employers in other countries.
