The financing must be recovered if the reported expenses include items that, according to Business Finland, could not be financed in accordance with the Government Decree on Development Projects and the terms of the disruption financing. The process is also initiated if the recipient fails to report on the development project.
All beneficiaries must submit a final report to the public funding organization within four months of the end of the project.
The media have previously emphasized that in many cases funding may not have been deliberately embezzled, but because of a lack of access to funding.
