Finnish Wolt is changing hands with an all-share transaction of approximately EUR 7 billion

Wolt estimated on Wednesday that when the shares changing ownership are taxed in the transaction, the transaction will increase Finland’s tax revenue by approximately EUR 600 million.

The food delivery startup also emphasized that its service would remain the same, be it from the point of view of couriers, customers or participating companies. It added that the service will remain available in its current form, retain its current name and will be provided by its current teams in all 23 countries of operation.

Mickey Six, CEO of Wolt, will take over Door Dash ‘s international business.

“I have to say this is the hardest decision of my career,” he said admitted To Helsingin Sanomat. “Our options were a stock exchange listing and this deal with Door Dash. We saw that together we can build something bigger.

“As a result of the transaction, Wolt will have unprecedented resources at its disposal to continue to expand and develop a better service, the value of which should not be underestimated in such a highly controversial industry.”

The acquisition was announced in Door Dash’s interim report. Until the closure, which is expected to take place in the first half of next year, both companies will continue to operate as independent entities.
