The CEO of Pfizer predicts that the effect of COVID-19 will be affected for a year

“If I can take a prediction, it looks like it will take a year, it looks like it’s possible that it’s like an annual vaccination,” Bourla said during a virtual discussion at the Atlantic Council.

The CEO of Pfizer pointed out that immunity would weaken after six months with the second dose of the vaccine, and suggested that it should wait and see until additional tests for booster vaccines were done.

“We know we saw a decrease in immunity six months after the second dose,” he said.

Bourla advised to wait at least several months for further research before drawing more detailed conclusions. However, he added that the booster dose provides higher protection than the original dose.
