China's Liu Guoliang elected ITTF Vice President

HOUSTON, November 24 (Xinhua) – Liu Guoliang, President of the Chinese Table Tennis Federation (CTTA), was elected Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The sport’s world governing body was held here on Wednesday.

He will serve alongside seven other vice presidents elected at the AGM.

Liu became CTTA president at the end of 2018 and was named chairman of World Table Tennis (WTT) in June 2020.

Petra Sorling from Sweden was elected chairman of the ITTF and became the eighth person and the first woman to hold the post.

The newly elected nine members of the ITTF Executive Committee will serve a four-year term, joining the ITTF Sports Committee Chair Zoran Primorac from Croatia and the IOC member Ryu Seungmin from South Korea to form the full ITTF Executive Committee.
